Amid the anxiety, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission appears to have muddled the election date question even further. Justice Minister Mutula Kilonzo has now rejected the suggestion by the IEBC to have the two coalition principals determine the crucial date. The Minister says he will instead fast track legislation that seeks to change the date to December. Ntv’s Irene Choge has more.

State Sen. Constance Johnson (D-Oklahoma City) tells “Majority Report” host Sam Seder about the amendment she proposed to a personhood bill introduced by fellow state Sen. Brian Crain (R-Tulsa). Johnson’s amendment, which she has since withdrawn, stipulated that life begins at ejaculation. Johnson explained why she took action: “When we have desperate measures, we have to take desperate steps. It was humorous, but at the same time it was as serious as a heart attack.”

Prime Minister Raila Odinga has hinted at possibility of holding the General Election this year. Raila, who did not disclose the exact date of the elections, says that this years polls will be free and fair. Raila’s sentiments could in many ways break the ice on when the elections will be held with some suggesting March next year after the five-year term of the current parliament ends.
